University is the first map I've ever built and I'm quite surprise with the positive response and feedback given by those who have played it. I've tested it on LAN participated by 12 -16 players and I'm really satisfied with it. Some complained that this map is too complex and there's nothing much interesting. Subsequently, I updated the map by adding several features such as making the roof accessible. Similiar to other hostage resue maps, this map gives the terrorist significant advantages over the CTs. 4 hostages have been kidnapped by a group of anti-government activists in a university located in Malaysia. This incident occured after the Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia, Anwar Ibrahim was jailed under the charge of sodomising his brother, Sukma Darmawan. Analysts define this case as a political game involving the the Prime Minister of Malaysia, Mahathir Mohamad who played a role as a conspirator to topple Anwar from the government.
One of the hostage is the vice-chancelor of the university, Prof. Ir. Dr. Ahmad Zaidee Laidin. The activists are asking for a large sum of ransom and urged the government to release Anwar from prison. In return they'll release the hostages without ahy harm. However Mahathir refuses to vow to their demand and sent the Malaysian Counter-Terrorist force comprising the police and the Royal Malaysian Army to rescue the hostages and prosecute the anti-government activists which he assumes them as terrorists.

COUNTER-TERRORIST GUIDE
You started off near a guardhouse. In the guardhouse, there are two spy cameras to spy on the Terrorist at their hideout base. In front of you, you'll see the entrance to the hall (See the right pic). There are 3 major routes for you to reach the terrorist base. I'll note it briefly as the left-wing, the center (hall) and the right wing. Separate your team into three groups and each heading to the separate way to ease the chance of finding the Ts as the Ts can be anywhere as they have more access to spots which are unreachable to the CTs.
In the hall, you'll notice that there it is wide and you'll be expose to danger as there can be threats from the windowed-room and the exit door in-front of you. So, forget about rushing into the hall without appropriate backup. To solve the threat, you can have a sniper camping in windowed room on your upper left side to protect you. The Ts can be hiding behind the exit doorway, so throwing a grenade or a flashbang is considered to be an effective way to eliminate the threats.
On the right-wing, you'll have to go through narrow some passages before you exit and find a platform filled with crates and a container. there is a number of hideous spots which you can take cover if you're being ambushed by the Ts. Also, beware of snipers who might camping in front of you at their base (See the pic on the lower right). Always look at the top to evade attacks from above. When there is no sign of danger, go straight further to the T base and go up the stairs on your left leading to a house labeled 'Canseleri'. This will be the place where two of the hostages are detained.
On the left-wing, it is also quite similiar to the right-wing; there's a narrow hallway leading straight to the T base. When you come out from the building (Faculty of Info. Studies), you can climb up the stairs towards the 'CT sniping room' or climb down heading for the T base. In the 'sniping room', where you can notice Anwar's pics, there is a switch button. 'Use' it and it will activate the roof of the hall to close. This will ensure that you and your teammates are safe from attacks that comes from the top. From the room, you can access to the 'Ts sniping room' and go straight to the T base. Notice that the ceiling glass is breakable and the Ts can ambush you undetected from above if the roof is let opened(See the pic on the upper left). 2 of hostages are inside the house with the Telekom Malaysia sign and the other 2 are inside the house with the sign 'Canseleri'. Try to be stealthy to infiltrate the house undetected. Make sure there is more than one CT to rescue the hostages as it is very difficult for a CT to 'use' all 4 hostages to bring them back to the rescue zone. Your team will be successful if you follow, utilise and understand all the features that lies in this map.Back to the top.
TERRORIST GUIDE
Terrorists will rule the servers if they can manipulate all the features of the map that gives them a significant advantage over the CTs. You start off inside either the house bearing the sign "Telekom Malaysia" or "Canseleri". No matter where you are from, you also have 3 routes to get through to the CT base. I'll make it short as the left-wing, the hall, and the right-wing. Your duty is to defend and prevent the CTs from infiltrating into your base. So, it is very important for you to know the essential camping spots in the map. The first one is in the hall (T sniping room) which you can access through a ladder in a small room located at the left-wing. Make sure that there is at least on person staying there to prevent the CTs from accessing into the room and thus leading them directly to the hostages. In the room, there is a switch button; it is a light switch to turn off the lights in the passageway and rooms in the hall. This will make it easier for you to hide and play hit and run. However, the hall is still bright as the lights that are hanging on the tensions are not turned off.Back to the top.
On the left-wing, there is small room with a small size veranda at the outside. In the room, there is a spy camera that can be used to view the CT base. Outside the room, there are plenty of crates that you can use them as hiding spots. Beware, one of the crates can explode. Want to know which one...try to seek for yourself..it's easy to find it.Make sure to stay away from it when you're under attack. To go through the right wing, you have to enter the green house first and climb upstairs before you come into an open space with crates, boxes and red floor tiles. The terrorists can camp here or just go through the short passageway. If not, try to enter the room which is located above the passageway and search for an entrance to a vent(see the left pic) in the room. This vent will directly transport you to the 'CT sniping room'..the advantage is that it is unreachable from the 'CT's sniping room'. The bvery interesting feature of this map is that the Ts can get to the roof, both the hall and the houses...want to know how...figure it out for yourself. Think..think..think. Anyway, that's all the guides that I can give for the Ts. There are so much things that you can do that is not mentioned by me. So, discover and explore the map slowly and deeply to find those special features. Back to the top.
HINTS
Counter-terrorist
- Little place to hide. CTs got to move fast to the terrorist's base. Hey, don't grumble. All hostage rescue maps gave the Ts advantages over the CTs. So as it is to CTs on bomb-defuse maps.
- 3 major routes to get to the hostages. The left wing is suitable for snipers who can play hit and run , the right wing is for those who are cautious for the T's presence and the hall is for those who love to rush and kill. Use it wisely.
- The Terrorist base is quite complex and narrow. Be sure to have backups as you move closer to their base.
- The T's are likely to go up the roof of the hall. So watch out! Always look up and identify which hiding spots that you can rush to in case if there is any ambush from above.
- To rescue the 4 hostages, use 2 CTs instead of one. A CT with 4 hostages can have a big problem passing the narrow hallway as the AI of the hostages are not intelligent enough to pass through the hallway as you do.
- On the left-wing, if there is any terrorist who camps in the room above the tunnel passage, you can distratct him for a while using a smoke grenade. Although it is out of reach, there's a way to throw it into the room. Here's how to do it. Go straight up to the 'CT sniping room' and shoot at the vent lid before throwing a smoke grenade into it. After a few seconds, smoke will covers the entire room where the Ts are camping and you can take this chance to eliminate them or passing through them undetected. (See pics below)
Terrorist
- Viva terrorist..this map gives you a significant advantage over the CTs. Many places for you to hide and play hit and run.
- Major advantage: Ts can get to the roof and standby to ambush the CTs. From the roof, the Ts can go anywhere undetected.
- AWP snipers can camp at several hidden spots.
- Ts can get easy access to the 'CT-sniping room' using the vent while the CTs can't use the vent from their 'sniping room'.
