The G.S.T. Arenas
Classic Arenas
The Castle Telefrag Arena
One of the first G.S.T. combat arenas, Castle Telefrag was the original test area for the teleporter prototypes which are now used frequently in the G.S.T. arenas. Castle Telefrag was given its name because its outside appearance was similar to that of a medieval style castle. The creepy atmosphere its shadows and green walls give have helped keep this classic arena a favourite.
The Lavaroom Arena
Another G.S.T. classic arena, The Lava Room has been a favourite since the very dawn of G.S.T.. Its thin catwalks suspended above a boiling vat of lava make this arena a finger favourite.
The Confusion Arena
The third and final G.S.T. classic arena has been the focal point of many heated discussions about what constitutes a classic arena, how difficult to navigate an arena should be allowed to be, and how many search and rescue missions it is acceptable to send into this arena to find the lost combatants within.
This arena, also known as the Blue Maze because of its confusing layout and the saddness a combatant's family might feel when their bretheren are eternally lost within its boundaries, is easy to understand; a group of seven corridors, with every second corridor having a window into the next corridor along. Seven identical (apart from the corridor reference numbers at each end of every corridor) corridors are supended above and perpendicular to the first set. Every corridor is directly connected to every second corridor perpendicular to it, and to every adjacent parallel corridoor by U-tunnels (every second one connecting with one side, every other with the other side). Though simple in concept, when in the heat of battle, many combatants become confused and lost.
Recently, the Confusion arena has undergone rennovations from its original blue streak colour sceme to newly installed wooden pannels.
Revision 1 Arenas
The Pinball Arena
This arena, called Pinball for the bouncing effect given by the arena's "bumpers", is one of G.S.T.'s more dangerous arenas contrary to what the bright colours and flashing lights might seem to suggest. Many combatants have suffered severe head damage from contact with the ground which has been accellerated from contact with bumpers. The Pinball arena should also be noted for its effect on weapons fire. Many projectiles have been known to also be effected by the arena's bumpers.
The Clockwork Arena
The Clockwork arena was originally selected for its spinning cogs which would often grind misfortunate combatants. Recently though, the cogs have ceased up entirely, and other than the maintenance catwalks the arena is completely static and remains so despite efforts by G.S.T. maintenance crews.
The Teletest Arena
Once used as an experimential time travel device, the Teletest arena was quickly purchased upon the failure of the experiment and converted for G.S.T. combat. The original theory was that by achieving extreemely high velocities though a magnetic field, an induction coil could give the necessary power for a time travel device to operate. With a teleportation field at the bottom end of the arena pointing back to the upper end of the arena, creating an ever accellerating loop (in a vaccumm which was removed by G.S.T. engineers).
Revision 2 Arenas
The Hedge Maze Arena
Constructed as a more acceptable maze like arena than Confusion, the Hedge Maze arena is a three levelled maze with transparent floors. Hydroponically grown from genetically enhanced garden hedges, the walls of the Hedge Maze arena are capable of withstanding blasts from even the most anrgy of chickens. The three levels are accessed via teleporters scattered throughout the maze complex.
The Rock Pool Arena
Nestled amongst the craters of Anguard, in the post fallout caverns is an underground lake, one of the few zones which have been deemed safe and are not restricted areas. This lake was purchased by G.S.T. officials soon after the restricted zone around it was lifted. Lacking ladders or teleporters, the Rock Pool arena relies on skilled Grappling Hook and Go Go Chopper usage.
The Stairway Arena
A favourite G.S.T. Revision 3 arena, Stairway consists of a large tower rising out of a lake of lava. The tower is circumnavigated by a spiral stairway which runs from the top of the tower right down to the last level before the lava. At multiple points around the tower, teleporters are nested into recesses.
Revision 3 Arenas
The Fridge Arena
Adapted from a display model from Advanced Kitchen Ideas Expo two months ago, the Fridge arena is one of three new arenas to be released with the 3rd G.S.T. Revision. In the Fridge arena, combatants can expect to battle around cheese sandwiches, milk cartons and celery sticks while dodging each other's photon fire left and right.
The Keyboard Arena
Although often accused of being asthetically displeasing, in practice, the Keyboard arena has proved itself to be entralling once the heat of battle sets in. Combatants have been seen lurking behind keys, laying tripmines and snark ambushes, while others peek around corners with grapples at the ready, eager to grapple snipe anyone stupid enough to poke their head above the keytops.
The Circus Arena
The third new 3rd Revision arena is a circus camp complete with highwire and diving platform. Stolen from a troop of Dumbo-Herders, this arena is crowded with G.S.T. strength (even stronger than industrial strength) crates for combatants to hide behind. The ability to climb atop the circus tents gives combatants a higher perspective on the arena which is useful for grapple sniping as well as launching chickens.
Testing Areas
The Official G.S.T. Weapons Testing Area
Although officially banned as an arena, the Official Weapons Testing Facility is often used as a G.S.T. combat area. It is even rumoured that the Disco Area is sometimes used for parties
