The new create a hero classes are Snow Troll and Hill Troll in addition to some new attire for the other races. New powers have been added with an all new cost system so you can fine tone what cost it will be. Hint: the more powers you use it gains more expensive recruit. /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// Units & Factions (uni) ///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// There is no such thing as the best faction. some units will be power fuller than other races but all depends on the person and their strategies and tactics. If you prefer to stay back and defend you will be risking it all especially if the faction you are playing doesn’t have walls to defend. if you are planning to rush an enemy base I recommend using Goblins as they are cheap fast and are very good in numbers. here are the factions and I will tell you what they are best for: ///////////////// Elves //////////////// unit = uni upgrades = up best suited for = bsf \/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/ Lorien warrior health:200 up: armour banner carrier forged blade bsf: Better for defending or attacking with Lorien archers. they will die quickly if they don't have some archers or cavalry with them Lorien archer health: 220 up: armour banner carrier silverthorn arrows ( expensive but incredibly good) bsf: Good for anything especially important that you get silverthorn arrows. ( approx. 2000-3000 points and additional 300 per battalion) They aren't very good against buildings without the arrow upgrade Mithlond sentries health:250 up: armour banner carrier forged blade bsf: Good against cavalry but do get crushed which like most spear wielding units is a negative if you mix them with archers and warriors you will have a formidable force especially if they all have their upgrades. if you mix them it should work out like this: enemy lancer enemy lancer enemy lancer enemy lancer =EL enemy swordsman enemy swordsman enemy swordsman =ES enemy cavalry enemy cavalry enemy cavalry =EC lancers =L swordsman swordman swordsman =S archers =A it will equal out like this your: L will defeat EC A will defeat ES S will defeat EL Mirkwood archers health:300 up: silverthorn arrow banner carrier bsf: Elite versions of Lorien archer. no armour upgrade and less cost efficient you are better of going for the Lorien archers as you get more in. BUT their arrow volley which can go anywhere is formidable in attacking newly spawned enemy troops Noldor warriors health:500 up: n/a bsf: Very good to have unfortunately they cost a lot but come already upgraded, you can switch weapons and are excellent against any units Rivendell lancers health:400 up: banner carrier armour forged blade bsf: Good at crushing swordsmen and archers STAY AWAY FROM PIKE/LANCERS AS THEY WILL OBLITERATE THEM USE SWORDSMEN TO TAKE THEM OUT!!! Lindon archers health: 300 up: banner carrier silverthorn arrow armour bsf: The best archers in the game because they have power with silverthorn arrows and have the speed of horses to they can chase their enemies ALSO THEY ARE LESS LIKELY TO GET ATTACKED BY PIKE/LANCERS AS THEY SHOULD KILL THEM BEFORE THEY GET CLOSE!!! Ents health: up: n/a bsf: Good and powerful and quite quick comparing to some other siege units //////////////////// Men of the West /////////////////// Rohan spearmen health: up: n/a bsf: Personally I think they are one of the worst units in the game. they are slow, weak and not to mention they cant be upgraded Gondar swordsmen health up: armour forged blade banner carrier bsf: Ok decent at clearing out enemies when possible reinforce with archers or rangers Gondor archer health: up: flaming arrows armour and banner carrier bsf: Good but not as good as the rangers but can help swordsmen allot Ithilien ranger: health: up: flaming arrows banner carrier bsf: Good and exceptionally good at taking enemies out anywhere on the map from their current location Tower guard: health: up: forged blades banner carrier armour bsf: Good against horses an a lot better than the Rohan spearmen they get upgrades and specialists Trebuchet health: up: fire stones bsf: Really good against far away units and buildings yet slow and vulnerable due to weak armour it will be destroyed if enemy units attack it via melee and from arrow towers when it is turning. Gondor knights health: up: forged blades armour and banner carriers bsf:Taking out archers as they will just crush them pretty weak against half troll pike man and hill trolls as they are the only ones not to get crushed by horses ( I may be wrong) Rohirrim health: up: fire arrows banner carrier armour and forged blades bsf: Really good as they can be used as mounted lancers and archers so are better to have than Gondor knights as they can defend ranged against spearmen. Dol Amroth knights health: up: n/a bsf: The best knights in the game as they are very good but vulnerable against pike/spearman //////////////////// Dwarves /////////////////// Guardians health: up: forged blades siege hammer armour banner carrier bsf: Supposed to be the best swordsman in the game. They are pretty cheap and come with a whole load of upgrades. Use them against pike man Phalanxes health: up: forged blade armour banner carrier bsf: Good against cavalry mix them with guardians and axe throwers Axe throwers health: up: forged blades armour and banner carriers bsf: Good at range and in towers defending use amongst Phalanxes guardians and Battlewagon for the formidable force Dwarf zealots health: up: n/a bsf: Good against all units but weaker against arrow towers Men of Dale health: up: fire arrows banner carrier bsf: As a replacement for Axe Throwers they are good and can light enemies on fire. You can also summon temporary ones using powers. Battlewagon health up: Men of Dale hearth banner carrier axe throwers bsf: This is the only cavalry where you have a huge range of upgrades but you can only choose one they run down enemies but be careful the do not run into trolls with pikes as they stop moving making them a sitting duck. Catapult health: up: fireball bsf: Strong against buildings and far away enemies Demolisher health: up: n/a bsf: Very strong against buildings pretty useless otherwise but can deploy like a shield to reduce armour but makes it immobile //////////////////////// Isengard /////////////////////// Uruk hai health:300 up: armour forged blades and banner carrier bsf: Good against pike man have an average stats and very good mixed with Uruk crossbowman Uruk pike man health:300 up: armour banner carrier forged blades Bsf: Good against cavalry and good in numbers and even better mixed Uruk crossbowman Health: 180 Up: fire arrows armour and banner carrier Bsf: Good against swordsman and good at range. Bezerker Health: 800 Up: N/A Bsf: Bezerker are very good and can take down a lot of melee Wielding units, however they are weak against a few hordes of archers Uruk death bringers Health: 1000 Up: N/A Bsf: The hero specialist unit they are good against everything And is possibly one of the best units that there is Ballista Health: 2000 Up: N/A Bsf: Best really against buildings nothing else Unless troops are occupying the enemy and it is firing away at the occupied troops Siege ladder Health: 300 Up: N/A Bsf: Useless except for climbing walls I recommend not using it and spending a little more On a Bezerker and a bomb so the walls are gone For good as the ladder may be destroyed! Bomb Health: 1500 Up: N/A Bsf: Very good for destroying structures from walls To keeps, you need a Bezerker but this is probably the best Thing you can get from the siege works Battering ram Health: 2500 up: n/a bsf: good or destroying gates and buildings but not as good s the bomb but is the next best and is cheaper Warg pack health:250 up: n/a Bsf: very good against swordsman and archers However, vulnerable against pike man they can crush so they are pretty good Wolf rider Health: 300 Up: forged blades banner carrier armour Bsf: strong versus archers they can kill spearman Coming close but they are not as good at killing swordsman Wild men of Dunland health:150 up:n/a Bsf: pretty useless but good at destroying buildings that don't have any defences unlike like a fortress that can have catapults etc Wildmen axe throwers health:150 up: n/a Bsf: again pretty useless you're better off going with crossbowmen ////////////////////// Angmar ///////////////////// Thrall master health:varies up: gundabad orcs / rhudaur spearman / rhudaur axe throwers / wolf riders Bsf: he is the cheapest unit in this faction which can summon many different types of units. the bad thing is they are weak and don't have any upgrades so they rely on numbers Black Numenoreans health: up: forged blade armour banner carrier Bsf: good against pikeman and are powerfuller than the gundabad orcs Dark rangers health: up: ice arrows banner carrier Bsf: really good as they canuse the volley move which shoots arrows anywhere on the map Wolf pack health: up: spiked collar Bsf: they are quick and kill spearmen use them with trolls to provide a safe escort Hill trolls health: up: forged blade armour banner carrier Bsf: they are really good against cavalry as horses etc won't trample on them like they do with smaller and weaker units. with the armour they are pretty formidable Snow troll health: up: forged blade armour banner carrier Bsf: very good against all enemies except seige, pikes and cavalry. Sorcerer health: 500 up: magic spells improvements Bsf: this is a support unit and should only be used to help allies in battle. they are not particuarly good. Troll stone thrower health up: ice ball Bsf: slow firing and slow moving. i would compare it to a turtle but does good damage i do not recommend it unless you are assaulting a good defended base. /////////////////// Goblins ////////////////// Goblin warriors health: up: forged blades armour banner carrier bsf: standard swordsman except it sacrifices strength And endurability for speed Goblin archers health: up: fire arrows banner carrier armour bsf: very good in numbers and mixed in with warriors Half troll pikeman health: up: forged blades armour banner carrier bsf: good against cavalry but pretty poor at killing any other unit Half troll swordsman health: up: forged blades armour banner carrier bsf: the counter for the pikeman these swordsman wield two blades and do good damage to pikeman however are vulnerable against archers Cave troll health: up: n/a Bsf: they are pretty good except they are weak aginst archers and pikeman. plus they don't do as much damage as the giants to structures but do more damage to swordsman Mountain giant health: up: n/a Bsf: as above but better at ranged and they are quicker to fire than trebuchets and catapults Dragon brood health up: n/a Bsf: the fire drakes are exceptionally good except aginst pikeman which is it's biggest downfall keep them away from pikeman Spiderlings health: upgrades: venom sac Bsf: pretty weak but kill swordsman and get the job done. Spider riders health: upgrades: venom sac Bsf: good and can change weapons but they die really quickly //////////////////// Mordor /////////////////// Orcs health: up: n/a Bsf: not that good but kill pikeman better Orc archer health: up: fire arrows Bsf: they are good at range but not as good as the haradrim archers Black orc health: up: armour forged blade banner carrier Bsf: elite version of the standard orc but powerfuller and can withstand more. Hharadrim archer health: up: banner carrier Bsf: long ranged attacks and are more better than the orcs Haradrim lancer Health: Up: Bsf: good cavalry the only one on Mordor except for the mama Drummer troll Health: Up: Bsf: only for supporting but can attack as well Attack troll: Health: Up: Bsf: very good trolls the best on murder’s side Keep them with drummer for leadership bonus' Cave troll health: up: Bsf: ok but it is better getting the attack troll when you can Mumakil health: up: Bsf: good against units but lacks building attack however is really only vulnerable to spearmen Corsairs health: up: Bsf: their fire bomb is pretty good with ranged units with them any swordsman may run into fire and die. Easterling health: up: Bsf: good spearmen but can get crushed so have a few battalions for backup /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// Heroes (her) ////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// Here i will just list the heroes i will not add any detail until .7 onwards of this version of the guide /////// Elves: ////// Arwen Elrond Thranduil Legolas Haldir Glorfindel Treebeard //////////////// Men of the west: /////////////// Merry Frodo Sam Pippin Theoden Eomer Eowyn Gandalf Faramir Boromir Aragorn ///////// Dwarves: //////// Gimli King Dain Gloin Prince Bergren ///////// Isengard: //////// Saruman Sharku Lurtz Wormtoungue /////// Mordor: ////// Gothmog Black riders Witch King Mouth of Sauron ///////// Goblins: //////// Goblin king Azog Drogoth the dragon lord Shelob /\/\/\/\/\/\/\ Ring heroes: \/\/\/\/\/\/\/ Galadriel- fights for the good side; the Lady of the Golden woods can only be acquired with the one ring. Her tornado powers are overwhelming and she can destroy an easy opponent's base on her own Sauron- the Dark lord will fight for his minions and will strike fear into his foes. sauron is slow but devastating as he does lethal attacks and when he dies all surrounding enemies die like in the last alliance! \/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\ campaign (cam) /\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/ mission 1- Foundations of Angmar First, start of by unmounting the witch king then Get both of your heroes to help the troll. Once the men have been killed Go up the plateau and meet with your men. I would recommend sending your Heroes to clear the path just a head so you can save your troops from Dying. Once you have done that send your forces to the tree points or Just your heroes (hint* if you send you three heroes to the top right one It easier and that way you will save you men the top right is the Hardest so be careful). Do not buy troops yet just wait until you have All three fortresses. Then position any wounded warriors at the south Fortress and get the others in the intersection in the middle of the map Where they can take a path to the northern fortresses. If you do not defend This part very heavily you may fail. Once you have defended that you have Completed the first mission Mission 2- Conquest of Rhudaur First, send your forces to the Hwaldar. That way you can get more Men later on when you are helping them at the camps. Capture the signal Fire for a power bonus. Then you can start raiding the camps that are under Attack. If you haven't the hill troll spell or the orcs or the wights you Should get them. The orcs arent the best so i would save up for the trolls Or the wights. remember to stay away from the river otherwise you will constantly get attacked. once you have ressurected the camps back into your hands you must use this time to start building a base. build one or two farms first then build barracks. you cannot get trolls here but you get men. use this to your advantage as the rangers can do volleys anywhere on the map which can hinder you enemy. try and upgrade your men before you assault the castle. if you are seen by them before you have attacked they will send waves of men at you. i would in this situation get pikemen for the horses, sowrdsmen and archers and maybe the catapults ( hint* they're very weak so keep them back otherwise you will lose them) send your wave of men at them and take down the catapults first then target the stables as the south castle is focussing on cavalry then work your way from there. you may have to repeat you attacks but once you have destroyed it i built another fortress their. the king also comes and attacks you base so be wary. when you have regained your strength assault the northern base but be careful if you have not defeated the king's forces yet. (hint* i would recommend building a wall if you built your base in the ruins of the old one to hold back against enemy units from the north and put the witch king to guard the bridge as well) mission 3- Amon Sul ( aka weathertop) Send your three herores to destroy the sun flare tree to prevent major reduction of your troops. build farms and halls. crank out the rangers and use them to fire at the enemy men inside the walls so they will be weaker ( hint* the hit enemies always attack you so be careful!). try an build fortresses with the witch king's sanctum as it does a bit of damage to the enemy buildings within it's radius but it also wipes out any enemy forces as well. use the summon power to take out the mallorn tree in the swamp that is guarded by rangers you should destroy it with one power and nothing else. make sure you have captured all the outposts as they will help you alot. Destroy the mallorn tree next to one of the outposts. once you have done that keep focusing the rangers and the iceballs at the enemy's buildings and units. when you think it is clear desroy the enemy fortress. do not waste time attacking every building get every unit attacking the mallorn tree (hint* this is optional you can just destroy the fortress) once you have done that you have finished weathertop! :) mission 4- Dark lord's eye If you have the barrow wights spell i would recommend using it where the target is which should hopefully kill him. Once your base is built go and capture another crystal. Make sure you do not use the ranger's volley as the men guarding it will capture it and you will be have to go and recovering it risking that you are strolling towards the enemies base. Once you have got all of them make sure you have a variety of forces. Here you will need to protect the catapults as they attack the enemies mounted trebuchets and the barracks. ( Hint* if you let all of your powers recharge you can unleash them all when you team is starting to loose. If you aim for the fortress you do not need to destroy anything else but you may be losing forces badly if you do not destroy the barracks). Once you have done that you would have completed the level!! mission 5- Barrow downs go to the diamon object to proceed and hopefully the enemy will not take it. have the bearers go back and use the rest to defend and slaughter the enemy.
