Description: The 1979 Trans Am had a rare optional WS6 package that included 1" anti-sway bars, 13:1 close ratio steering box, 3.73 posi rear end, 4 wheel disc brakes, and could house 8.5" deep dish rims at all four spindles. I was lucky enough to purchase one in 1986. I rebuilt the car from the ground up. Enhancements included 8.5"x11.00" deep dish rims, 4.10 posi rear end, high performance 400 Pontiac engine balanced and blueprinted, ¾" race cam, 10.5:1 compression semi-dome pistons, 30cc shaved heads and intake manifold, headers, 2 1/4" dual exhaust, 700R4 transmission w/ manual valve body and shift kit plus many more…

In 1995 the car was destroyed by a drunk driver while I was out of town. This project is an attempt to ressurrect my 70’s muscle machine so she may live again…

Therefore, attention to detail was a critical factor while designing this car…

I hope you enjoy driving her as much as I did when she was the real thing…

Installation: Simply unzip this file to a temp directory such as c:/unzipped. Now, go to your c:/programfiles/need for speed high stakes/savedata/car directory and create a new folder called 79ta. Now copy all the files to the savedata/car/79ta folder you made a minute ago. Load up NFS 4 and enjoy. Note: for this car to work it MUST be installed in the SAVEDATA/CARS directory NOT the DATA/CARS directory.

Credits to: Eletronic Arts - without which none of this would be possible, Agamemnon for all the tips on adding an animated driver and his great tutorials, and to all the developers who make the fine utilities necessary to create all the addons.

Revision info:

Version v2.0: In this revision I have completely overhauled the performance of the vehicle using mathematical formulas to simulate the most accurate performance that NFS 4 is capable of delivering. I have based all calculations on actual documented staticstics retrieved from my REAL car. I hope you enjoy the added realism.

Version v1.0: Completed first draft of entire car including new performance, mesh, texture, animated driver, breaking glass, transparent windows, interior, and vidwall.

Future versions: I plan on developing a showcase, 3D dash, and new audio for the car in future releases.
