Game overview:

The Dark Conjunction is a true Q3 Single-Player Total Conversion. TDC boosts real NPCs (non-playable-characters) instead of computer controlled bots. Unlike Quake 3, the levels are linear, with clear starting points and ending points.

The game's ambient is a fusion between fantasy and apocalyptic reality. The mod has a strong focus on the story, which unfolds as the player progresses through the game. As the mod continues to grow, more of the story will be revealed.

Main menu:

The menu is similar to the Quake 3 Arena menu. Some important notes about new options in the menu:

1) You can save through the ingame menu (press 'Esc') and load from both the main and ingame menus. If you do not name the save the progress will be recorded to the autosave file. Note that the saving option will only save the player's initial status of the map being played. When loading you will always start from the beggining of the level.

2) From the system setup menu you can now enable/disable the following options from the Quake 3 config file:

- Compress textures (r_ext_compressed_textures in the Q3 config):
Set this to 0 to disable texture compression support (slower, but better visuals). Texture compression can vastly improve frame rates, although may cause some visual degradation in certain areas of the game.

- Round images down (r_roundImagesDown in the Q3 config):
Set this to 0 to disable texture smoothing. This option smoothes and rounds textures when they need to be resized producing slightly inferior visuals.

*** With the "round images down" disabled we experienced significant improvement of texture quality in large textures of md3 models. (TDC has many textures larger than 256*256 applied to md3 monsters or objects. These particular textures were mostly affected by the change).
