Well, what can I say, It's Darth Malak from KOTOR. This puppy fast became my
second favorite Star
Wars character (right after the dude in black himself). The designers sure did
a great job in his
design.
The default skin was taken straight off of KOTOR, so thanks to Bioware for that.
Unfortunately, KOTOR
had very low-res texture packs (only 512x512 for the entire body mesh) so the
skin detail does look
low for what I originally had in mind. Maybe one day someone will make a better
skin for him.
Team skins and the specular map shader were done by yours truly by using the
base skin textures.
Be Sure to Check out the Single Player Spawnable enemy (see below) as he's worth the detour.
MULTI PLAYER
There are two versions of the head, which are selectable through the browser
with icons. One with his
face mask and one without, revealing his nice little voice box and missing jaw.
If the Icons do not show up for a reason or another, use:
model malak
in the console for the default skin and,
model malak/nomask
for the skin without a head mask.
SINGLE PLAYER
To Play as Malak in Single Player open the console and type
playermodel malak
To spawn Darth Malak as an enemy, open up the console and type:
npc spawn darth_malak
this will summon a pretty big and ugly malak that will enjoy making your jaw
look like his.
Techie Comments
This model is part of a future release model pack. Darth Malak will be part
of a pack where it will
be possible to swap his head/body/legs with other available models/skins.
In this pack is a No LOD model, team skins, custom sounds (lots of 'em) and a
neat little bot. NO LODS
because like I said the main model is part of a pretty complex model with about
6 different body types
and adding LODS to those would be madness. For the curious, this stand alone
version is stripped from
the other meshes and only includes the malak mesh.
