Description

Darkness Hollows is a Halloween themed dungeon adventure plugin for Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. Once the plugin has been activated and the game loaded, travel south of Cheydinhal to seek out a seemingly (and recently) abandoned homestead in the woods called Hollow Cabin. Within you will find a strange painting of a Lady in Mourning. The painting is a portal that will deliver you to Darkness Hollows, a forgotten vale where terrible things have happened and the terrible adventure awaiting you within Castle Thatchmoon. Once you enter the castle there is no escape, no one ever escapes, but your only chance of being the first is to be well prepared for a long dungeon crawl BEFORE you enter. Players are advised to have both a ranged weapon and an enchanted weapon before attempting Darkness Hollows, along with numerous health potions or curatives. For the best results, play in the dark without music and without magic effects like "Nighteye" and "DetectLife". Be wary in your adventuring hero...

Installation:

To install, simply unpack all 4 .7z files, place the DarknessHollows.esp into your Oblivion Data folder, and merge all 3 resource data folders with your Oblivion Data folder. Activate before loading and enjoy the adventure. To uninstall, simply deactivate and delete all files from your data folder.

Known Bugs and Conflicts:

Bugs Fixed in v1.6.0:

Bugs Fixed in v1.5.0:

Bugs Fixed in v1.4.0:

Companion Warning:

On a dungeon crawl as long and perilous as Darkness Hollows, many companion mod fans will be eager to gear up their favorite pals to bring along on the adventure. However, if YOUR companion does not have a summon spell that allows you to summon them to you, leave them at home. There are places in Darkness Hollows where companions simply cannot go with the player without getting killed or lost. We will assume no responsibility for your friends remaining in the nightmare forever.

Godmode Warning:

Of course as long as there is a power one will be tempted to use it when it dire need. Unfortunately, when it comes to using godmode in Darkness Hollows you'll want to resist the urge. Because this is such a heavily scripted mod, any console cheats could potentially break the adventure. During testing, Godmode disrupted several scripts from firing resulting in no further progress, so we advise you to leave it off. Save often and stock up on goodies instead.

Collision/Clipping:

Do not use the "tcl" console command to navigate through Darkness Hollows. There are collision boxes designed to guide your immersion and trigger zones to progress events, both of which can be drifted through with collision toggled off resulting in a bad experience for you, so give your console the night off.

Challengers:
