2 June 2004: Version 1.6 came so quickly..

Yargh. There has been a terrible response to the implementation of user keybindings in Version 1.5. Many people are not downloading CarBall from the website or the mirrors. Instead they are downloading straight from the server's and as such their keybindings aren't functioning.

To address this bad problem I'm releasing Version 1.6 straight away.

I must apolpgize to all those who were inconvenienced with Version 1.5 and to those whom I told there would not be another Version for at least a week.

1 June 2004: Version 1.5 is now.

Hold on to your hats. CarBall version 1.5 is now here. Head on over to the downloads page for the lowdown and a download link. Hopefully mirrors will appear shortly.

I've had reports of bad transfer rates from the CarBall host. I've been using this host for several years and never noticed any problems. That's most likely because I'm only a dialup modem user heheh.

James has kindly informed me that the OzForces mirror is now up (Zip distribution only). That's really fast work. Well done James, and thanks to OzForces.

Chris from BulletFiles and Matthias from daddeln have emailed me to let me know that the BulletFiles and daddeln mirrors are now up. Great work guys, thanks.

Screeny2 just dropped me a line in ICQ to let me know that eXtreme-Players is mirroring Version 1.5 (UMod versions only). Thanks to eXtreme-Players.

I also got an email from Bob. He's playing CarBall on the MAC. Hopefully I'll be adding MAC downloads from now on. Cheers Bob.

1 June 2004: Misc updates..

I've added a Maps page to the website to showcase new maps for CarBall, and archived the previous months news. There aren't any maps there yet but keep an eye out for some very soon.

I've received an EMail from Lara. unrealEXTREME is now mirroring CarBall Version 1.4 . Thanks Lara and unrealEXTREME.

I'm also working hard on the next version of CarBall. Things that I managed to get done today..

- NitroBoost greatly reduced. It's now back to near how it was in 1.2.
- No longer drawing playernames above invisible Buggies.
- Added special "Out of bounds) volume. When the Ball touches one, it get's reset.
- Ball now resets if it comes to rest and hasn't been touched for about 15 seconds.
